The Official Star Wars Blog (October 2011)
My blog post on Star Wars shortbread, featuring my cousin’s recipe, got picked up by the Official Star Wars Blog, earning us both eternal nerdship along with a whole load of new fans for the blog. The Force is strong with this one.
Irn Bru in the Kitchen (July 2011)
My recipe for Irn Bru cupcakes, originally cooked up for Burns Night, first got a mention on the news section of the famous Scottish drink manufacturer’s website back in January. In July, my post was featured on the site once again, this time as part of a blog feature on Irn Bru in the kitchen.
Bake & Destroy SugarSlam 2011 (July 2011)
I entered my Kendo Nagasaki cake pops into this wrestling-themed bake-off run by Natalie over at Bake & Destroy, and although I didn’t win, I was singled out with a mention on the site, which was more than enough to keep me happy considering how good the rest of the entries were!

Cupcakes Take the Cake (April 2011)
Inspired by the song from The Sex Pistols, I made some Anarchy in the UK cupcakes for my pal’s boozy royal wedding tea party and they even made it onto über-baking blog Cupcakes Take the Cake.
Cakes for Japan (March 2011)
Organised by Miss Cakehead, this pop-up shop saw professional and amateur bakers joining forces to raise money for The Red Cross to aid its efforts in Japan following the devestation caused by the earthquake and tsunami on 11 March 2011. The event was widely covered all over the web with London Baking’s donation of Pacman gingerbread getting a few mentions here and there.
